Changing fonts

Updated 1 view

Custom fonts

  1. Install the Custom Fonts plugin.
  2. Upload the font files — in as many formats as you have, for the best browser support.
  3. The fonts appear in the Customizer and Elementor font lists.

Adobe Fonts (Typekit)

  1. Install the Custom Typekit Fonts plugin.
  2. Enter the Project ID from Adobe Fonts.
  3. The fonts appear in the Customizer and Elementor font lists.

Some themes don’t list custom fonts in the Customizer. In that case apply the font with custom CSS.

Disable Google Fonts

To remove Google Fonts from the Customizer font lists, add this filter to the child theme’s functions.php:

add_filter( 'kirki/enqueue_google_fonts', '__return_empty_array' );

Fonts look wrong: clear the font cache

For GDPR compliance, Google Fonts are stored on your server. If a font selected in the Customizer doesn’t display correctly, clear that cache — it is safe on production sites.

  1. Go to Settings → Kirki.
  2. Click Clear Cache.

If letters still show up wrong (e.g. every character looks like “A”), it’s a known Kirki issue — see the fix on GitHub or update Kirki to the latest version.
